About me

Matteo Libanoro

I was born in Gattinara in 1975 and I have always dedicated myself to art.
After graduating from the Liceo Artistico of Novara and specialising at the Academy of Applied Arts in Milan, I deepened my knowledge of the main pictorial and decorative techniques, from the restoration of mural paintings to the creation of artistic surfaces from scratch.
Over the years, I have received important recognitions, including the National Excellence of Craftsmanship, the OMA Excellence – Osservatorio dei Mestieri d’Arte, and the Wellmade Recognition of the Cologni Foundation in Florence, which promotes the finest Italian master artisans.

Training and technical research

Since 1999, I have attended several courses held by Master Silvio Dellavedova on the ancient technique of Artificial Marble, or Artistic Marble in scagliola.

Through experimentation with powdered pigments, animal glues and natural scagliola, I learned to reproduce and reinterpret the veining of fine marbles and hardstones, from lapis lazuli to malachite. until creating original variations.

Over the years, my dedication to this craft led me to collaborate with Master Dellavedova, receive a letter of commendation from him for my commitment, and later become a teacher myself in courses dedicated to this technique.

It is both a workplace and a meeting space: by appointment, visitors can experience firsthand the techniques and processes I have been pursuing for over twenty years.
